Transportation

It is about 2 hours’ drive from KK town center to our lodge, 1 hour after driving from town one shall reach the boundary of Tamparuli town.  The usual high traffic hours in this part of the road are from Mon-Fri, 5-7pm when residents returning home from work in town.  The journey from Tamparuli onward is an uphill road toward Kinabalu Park.  The traffic is usually not heavy, except there are slow heavy vehicles in which a driver need to overtake, and the mist which may show up from late afternoon though out the night and in a wet day.  After passing Kinabalu Park HQ, about 1.5km you shall see our blue colour signbard on the left side of the road. Turn to the slip road downhill for about 30m one shall reach our reception. 

From Sandakan direction, after passing Kundasang Town, about 5 km, you shall see our sign board on the right side of the road.

Public Transport From Kota Kinabalu Airport

Taxi is available from the Kota Kinabalu airport to our lodge.  It can be ordered from the Taxi counter in the airport.  Please inform the Taxi Mile 36 Lodge at Mile 36, most Taxi driver shall be able to take you to our lodge. Time taken is about 1.5 to 2 hours. Price of normal airport 4 passengers Taxi to our lodge about RM200, from 11:50pm: RM300 (with additional mid night charge). Price of 6 passengers Taxi is about RM300, from 11:50pm: about RM400 (with additional mid night charge). 

Maxim or Grab car are also bookable from the applications. It is only bookable from Kota Kinabalu to Mile 36 Lodge. No driver available from Mile 36 Lodge or any place in Kundasang to Kota Kinabalu at the moment.

Public Transport From Bus\Taxi Terminal in Kota Kinabalu

Mini bus\Share Taxi is available at Terminal at Jalan Padang, very near to the city center.   Look for Mini bus\Share Taxi going to RANAU.  Tell the driver you are going to Mile 36 near Kinabalu Park HQ.  The driver shall take you to Mile 36 and drop you outside Mile 36 Lodge.  The cost of the Share Taxi and Mini Bus is about RM25 - RM30 per person.  Share taxi will wait till it fills up 4 persons to depart.  Both mini bus and share taxi end service in the late afternoon.

Alternative, public transport is available at Bus Station at Inanam.  It is running large bus and stop at Kinabalu Park HQ.

Public Transport to and from various places of interest around Mt Kinabalu

The following are information about transport to places of interests.  Please do note that the lodge does not take any commission or benefit by ordering the transport.  Guests are free to arrangement their own transport or get transport contact from our receptionist and arrange the transport directly.

Poring Hot Spring – may call a Taxi to Ranau cost about RM50 per Taxi.  From Ranau take a Mini Bus to Poring Hot Spring.  Poring Hot Spring by Taxi two ways cost about RM160.

Poring Hot Spring + Sabah Tea by Taxi two ways cost about RM260

Poring Hot Spring + Sabah Tea + Desa Dairy Farm two ways cost about RM400

Kinabalu Park HQ – walk for 20 minutes, or call a Taxi cost about RM30.

Public Transport to other cities or places of interest

Sandakan – Public Bus is available outside Kinabalu Park every hour from 7:30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. To confirm you have a seat, you have to book in advance through easybook.com. It cost around RM50 per seat to Sandakan
